&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Cheryl&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;Merchant &lt;/strong&gt;has been in automotive manufacturing for 25+ years.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; She began as a production supervisor at General Motors, where she was the only woman, working second shift in the gritty heart of Detroit.&amp;nbsp; She quickly advanced her career working at Mazda, the Ford Motor Co. and then at the&amp;nbsp; Lear Corporation. She climbed through the ranks and in various departments until she was the Plant Manager of a 3500 employee operation in Mexico making automotive car seat covers at a rate of 20,000 vehicles / week.&amp;nbsp; Besides Mexico, she has also managed plants in Canada, Poland, England, and in various locations in the US.&amp;nbsp; She has dealt with operation start-ups, shut-downs, mergers, and relocations; and with more products than is possible to list. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
For the last 10 years, she has been the President/CEO of &lt;strong&gt;Hope Global.&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; During that time, the company has went from being &amp;lsquo;Hope Webbing&amp;rsquo; to &amp;lsquo;Hope Global, Engineered Textile Solutions&amp;rsquo;, has grown in revenue by 2.5x and expanded its operations to having plants in Rhode Island, Michigan, Mexico, Brazil, Ireland, France and Czech Republic.
